About Us

Mukogodo Girls Empowerment Program

MGEP is a women-led community organization empowering indigenous women and girls in Laikipia and Isiolo through education, rights advocacy, health access, ending FGM and child marriage, promoting livelihoods, and using sports to challenge gender stereotypes.

We work closely with the community at large, including government agencies listed among our partners, to promote the rights and wellbeing of women and girls.

We envision a society free from all form of harmful cultural practices, fundamental freedom, wellbeing, dignity of indigenous women & girls in pastoralist communities.

MISSION

Champion the rights of indigenous women and their girls through strengthening their capacity to influence policy, decision making processes and address harmful cultural practice like FGM and child marriage, protect, promote, empower and build the capacity of indigenous women and girls through education, sports, (rugby) conservation and protection of the environment.
